Air Induction Kit | HI-FLO • N18 R-Chassis

The NM Engineering Hi-Flow Intake is a complete "Open-Air-Box" performance system designed to maximize the breathing potential of the turbocharged MINI Cooper S. While many competitors offer simple filter-on-a-stick designs, our system features a fully integrated, larger-diameter turbo inlet tube to ensure high-velocity airflow from the filter to the turbo.

During R&D, we logged Mass Air Flow (MAF) data and engine bay temperatures to prove that an "open" source beats a "sealed" box. While a sealed box might offer slightly cooler air at a standstill, the NM open-air system provides an unlimited 360° air source that matches ambient temperatures once the vehicle exceeds 20 mph. By prioritizing a higher volume (gr/sec) of air through the sensor, we’ve created an intake that delivers superior throttle response and increased power across the rev range.

Features

• Unrestricted 360° Induction: Replaces the restrictive, tube-fed factory airbox with an open-element design for maximum air volume.
• Integrated Inlet Tube: Includes a larger-diameter turbo inlet pipe to reduce turbulence and improve induction efficiency.
• Premium Construction: Choose between CNC mandrel-bent aluminum with a textured powder coat or 100% vacuum-bagged carbon fiber for a lightweight, high-end appearance.
• Serviceable Filtration: Includes a pre-oiled, washable multi-layer filter for a lifetime of use (cleaning kits available separately).
• Proven Performance: R&D tested to ensure optimal Mass Air Flow (MAF) readings and real-world temperature management.
• 50-State Legal: C.A.R.B. Exempt (Executive Order D-236-22), making it street-legal in all US states.

Notes

• Finish Options: Available in Textured Blue, Textured Black, or 100% Carbon Fiber composite.
• Dry Filter Option: For a maintenance-free experience, a dry paper filter is available (select part numbers ending in "D"). It offers the same performance as the oiled version but is designed to be replaced rather than cleaned.
• Fitment: Designed for turbocharged R-Chassis MINI Cooper S and JCW models.
• Quality Assurance: All stainless brackets, hardware, and silicone couplings are engineered for a precise, vibration-resistant fit.
