StopTech Balanced Brake Upgrades® provides stopping distance and control superior to stock brake systems while supporting extended track lapping sessions or aggressive street driving. StopTech Balanced Brake Upgrades are fully engineered, bolt-on systems for production cars and production-based competition vehicles with no modification required to the chassis or suspension. StopTech big brake kits feature forged opposed piston calipers, street performance pads, caliper mounting brackets, directional AeroRotors®, DOT-compliant stainless steel brake lines and all hardware required for a complete installation.
Balanced Brake Upgrade Benefits
Improvements in stopping distance are achieved through ideal brake bias, the distribution of brake torque between front and rear axles. Time to do effective work, the delay between brake pedal application and actual deceleration of the vehicle, is improved by reducing system compliance with the stiffest caliper designs available in the automotive aftermarket and stainless steel brake lines. Together, these features also promote improved brake modulation and greater driver confidence. Differential piston sizes and the overall stiffness of StopTech’s caliper design eliminate pad taper wear.
StopTech’s patented, directional AeroRotor vane design offers up to 80 percent greater induced cooling airflow than original equipment rotors and 10-30 percent more airflow than other currently available directional vaned racing rotors. This reduces maximum and average operating temperatures, improving pad and rotor life. The AeroRotor’s two-piece, floating design with 7075 T-6 directional billet aluminum hats resists coming at high temperatures, eliminating radial pad taper.
